We had the pleasure to witness large flocks of hosters gathering at the WHD.Global conference here in Germany, interested to learn on what’s new and upcoming in the hosting market. We had the opportunity to interact with many hosting providers and Datacenter providers to take our next step in this market segment. What’s exciting is the interest for Hosting Providers to get into Managed Services space. They are looking out for value added service offering which they can extend to their customers. Data Backup and Disaster Recovery is on top of their list.
There was extreme level of interest shown for our products, StoreGrid (Data Backup and Disaster Recovery) and SyncBlaze (File Sharing and Sync), primarily because of our expertise in the Managed Services space. We enable service providers to effectively offer managed service to their customers and built features and functionality specifically around their needs. Backup, Disaster Recovery, File Sharing and Sync etc.. are functionality aspect of the product and there are few products in the market that can offer those features. But what really differentiates us is the ability to automate the provisioning, customer on-boarding, billing and management features built specifically to address the needs of new breed of Managed Service Providers (a.k.a Hosting Service Providers).
The biggest hurdle shunning hosting providers from service offering is ‘Multi-tenant service Management’. We heard that clear and loud right from the beginning of our product development. Given our experience working with more than 3500 Managed Service Providers worldwide, we were able to easily incorporate best-of-the-breed MSP centric management feature set into our products. StoreGrid’s ability to integrate with cPanel, Plesk, Open VZ etc.. to offer a granular domain level backup and disaster recovery with the ability to backup virtualized environments like VMware, Hyper-V and Xen were prospective from the eyes of hosting providers.
One of our close partners who attended the event rightly said, “The reason why we look into offering value added Managed Services is primarily to ‘SCALE’ our business”
Based on the amount of interest shown by Hosting and Datacenter Providers, we think adoption of StoreGrid and SyncBlaze by hosting providers is a matter of time.
