Reason #1 – Deployment Flexibility

With SyncBlaze, you can either opt to Host-it-Yourself in your own environment, at your customer premises or choose to Use our Cloud.

Let’s take a look at the top reasons to choose SyncBlaze over Dropbox for Business and how Managed Service Providers and Value Added Resellers can provide a secure alternative to their business customers.

Reason #1 – Deployment Flexibility

With SyncBlaze, you can either opt to Host-it-Yourself in your own environment, at your customer premises or choose to Use our Cloud. We wanted to provide the flexibility to you (MSPs/VARs) and your customers to decide where the data needs to reside, after all, it’s your data.

Reason #2 – Business DNA

It has always been within us. When we had the idea of SyncBlaze, we just had businesses and business users in mind (not to forget Managed Service Providers and Value Added Resellers). Right from the ground up, each module and features were tailored and developed to serve the needs of businesses and not just consumers. The basic idea was to serve the end users with the ease-of-use and flexibility and help the IT to manage and provide a secure file sharing service to their employees.

Some of the key business features include Multi-tenant architecture with centralized administration capabilities, Active Directory based LDAP integration and more.

Reason #3 – Permission based Collaboration

Considering the business world in real time, employees will always look for an effective way to collaborate with their co-workers and team. With SyncBlaze, the users can assign the right level of permission while collaborating on their projects and also track the modifications (along with the user name and device information) made on any file using the file version control.

Apart from the above top reasons, there are few more still left to be listed:

Client-side Encryption

The files added to SyncBlaze will be compressed and encrypted before being uploaded to the server, that is, SyncBlaze does client-side encryption so the files will be encrypted during both data-at-rest and data-in-flight. It uses 448-bit military-grade encryption standard.

Unique Pricing Model

The pricing is SyncBlaze is unique and competitive as we use Pay-as-you-go model. The on-premise edition is based on the number of users being created in SyncBlaze and the cloud edition is purely based on the storage being utilized. Contact us to know the pricing model in detail.

Content Aggregation

One of my earlier post quoted about Dropbox’s plan to focus on content rather than just file sharing. SyncBlaze on the other hand was designed to serve business users to manage all their online content in one single platform. It provides the ability to manage multiple other content from multiple sources such as Files, Bookmarks, Notes, RSS Feed, Google Apps and lots more.

What are you waiting for? Go ahead and get started with your preferred edition today!

If there is one thing the global tech community is waiting with bated breath, it has got to be the Google Glass. Initial reports suggest that people seem to either love it or loathe it. Some are already developing apps to do amazing things with the glass. Some want to punch anyone wearing google glass in the face!

We have read numerous overzealous articles and seen videos of Google Glass in an archery range, a toddler wearing Google Glass and Robert Scoble taking a shower with the glasses on.
When the day comes, I’m pretty sure organizations will be generating tonnes and tonnes of data through ways never even dreamed of.
When the day comes, I’m pretty sure organizations will be generating tonnes and tonnes of data through ways never even dreamed of. Imagine your organization’s sales head walking into the conference room and saying, “Ok glass, present Q2 sales deck!” and the projector lighting up the dim lit room. I’m sure there are more endless possibilities where Google Glass is going to change the way the world works.

Last year around this time, Domo told us that each minute, we send around 204,166,667 emails, consumers spend $272,070 online and Twitter users send around 100,000 tweets. This was last year and in an era when there was no wearable technology. There is still no consumer wearable technology. But once Google Glass and the equally awaited iWatch happens, as technology pundits foresee, it might just change the way we generate and consume content.

So what does it mean for MSPs and CSPs?

For starters, there is going to be a humongous surge in the scale of cloud services required by organizations, especially in the field of data storage, disaster recovery and sync. And then there is always the necessity of data centers where all infrastructure (including storage, network and security) is virtualized and delivered as a service.

So as an MSP, are you ready to cater to the exponential rise in demand for cloud services? These are newer avenues and the best way for MSPs and CSPs to explore these avenues is to first creating the demand.

How else do you think wearable technology is going to change the enterprise landscape or change the cloud services scenario? Please feel free to share the same in the comments below.

With mounting data of patient records, reports and diagnostic images that needs to be kept secure and confidential, data backup for the healthcare industry is possibly the second most important operation of any hospital, the first one being health care itself.

With the growing number of regulations and laws regarding this health care data, it becomes top priority for IT managers to make sure that processes are in place.

Traditionally, health care backups like most other industries rely on tape backups. But the problem with tape backups are aplenty starting with the issue of reliability. It is no big secret that tape backups are insecure. Plus the problem of physical storage is another big issue.

There have been instances where IT managers discover during the point of restore, much to their despair that the tapes are beyond recovery.

HIPAA (The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996):

HIPAA states that every medical practitioner and health care provider should maintain EMR (Electronic Medical Records) with proper processes in place. The act further requires such data to be properly backed up and restorable apart from the fact that the data must be handled with utmost care and confidentiality.

As an MSP with a number of small healthcare customers, you must make sure that the backup and disaster recovery service provider follows a number of regulations like HIPAA complaince and SAS 70 Type II certification. Vembu’s StoreGrid offering is compliant to both HIPAA and SAS 70 Type II audits.

Furthermore, as an MSP you must ensure that the data backup and disaster recovery provider provides the highest level of data security as there is absolutely no room for error in such a mission critical industry.

Taking into account the critical nature of healthcare data, it is always advisable to not settle for the second best. A majority of small healthcare practices (small offices) are yet to fully adopt complete data backup and disaster recovery services. StoreGrid backs up thousands of such data silently and efficiently in a number of healthcare institutions worldwide. The healthcare practices now only do what they do the best – health care.

A big shout out to the nice folks at HTG (@Arlin and Team) organizing these events where MSPs can meet, greet and mainly learn best practices from each other. Who better to learn about the business and industry, but from your peers? It was indeed heartwarming to see the number of MSPs stepping forward and embracing cloud technology.

One major concern that was aired at the event when we spoke to MSPs is that businesses are showing a tendency to check out major cloud service platforms like Microsoft Office 365, Google Apps etc. However the good thing about the business model of MSPs is that they have all the liberty in the world to offer the very best of cloud services from various vendors unlike the big cloud service providers. Any organization will have various requirements for managed services ranging from accounting, invoicing, network, office, backup, disaster recovery etc. and it is just not a practical task to get the best of everything under one roof. And this is exactly where the MSP business model is win-win for both the MSP and the customer. Plus when it comes to trust, companies go for the person whom they can easily access and talk to – your friendly neighborhood MSP!

Being a hybrid cloud backup, disaster recovery, file sharing & sync vendor in the channel market, we help MSPs to offer cloud based services which is multi-tenant and scalable with an easy to use, pay-as-you-go licensing model. This will help MSPs to have profitable MRR without spending too much on CAPEX investments.

So were you present at the HTG Summit 2013? Do drop in a comment and we can catch up!

Key Market Challenges

The main challenges faced by IT providers are skyrocketing amount of data to be safe-guarded, the need to efficiently manage the data keeping costs low at the same time, the need for customer satisfaction and support, a robust system that will silently work in the background without the need for high expense and complex procedure to slow things down and changing trends in the way the market consumes data, BYOD for instance.

According to the report, the key benefits of Storegrid are efficiency, data integrity and simplicity and that of SyncBlaze are secure and efficient file sharing and centralized BYOD support.
Do you love code? Do you sleep during the day and spend the night stalking GitHub? Do you dream code?

If you said yes to the above questions and if you’re fresh out of college (2013 graduates), we should meet!

We do some awesome things in the world of backup and sync & we would like you to be part of our growth.

We do have a stringent interview process. The first round would comprise of a one and half hour test with multiple choice questions in aptitude, logic reasoning and verbal ability. Candidates who get above the cut-off mark will be selected for the second round. The cut-off mark could be anywhere from 65% to 75%. There is no minimum XII or X marks needed to write this test.

Candidates who clear the first round will be informed by phone and email that they have been selected. They will be given a day and time when they should appear for the second round.
