Announcing New StoreGrid v5.2 HP Edition

After analyzing the requests from existing and prospective partners, we are humbly proud to release Hosting Provider v5.2. Currently, this edition is out as an Evaluation build. At this moment, we thank you for keeping your fingers crossed!  This evaluation includes Clustering, Seeding of Clients data, Repository Management for data storage, Linux BMR and with further more back end enhancements.

A Sneak into the features list!

Repository Management:

We have just re-designed the Storage Management for Data Storage to Repository Management. As a part of adding further security to your Client’s data, we have modeled this Repository Management. Repository Management is an advanced Volume Management; where you have ability to lock your Client(s) to particular Repository and  group multiple volumes to a Repository. Volumes can be either a part of NAS/SAN/RAID. You’d love this once you check out this feature on our  hot list!

Replication Server:

Ha! It is the one you were scratching you head for a very looong time! Right?

PS: I meant that typo! *long
Here, your entire backup server data is completely replicated to your replication server at your own will. Implicitly, this Replication can be done at each Repository Level. So, you have full freedom of replicating data from particular Repositories and also the perk of having Repository Management as well for your clients.

Clustering :

As a Backup Service Solution vendor, we would never forget to understand the requirements of Hosting Market which requires  high performance and scalability. Cluster mechanism for your Backup Server. And that too in particular, we extend this feature to you with a robust Round Robin Algorithm –  of having a common storage with multiple nodes. Even if you any one of the configured Node dismay, your clients will have zero downtime. Once you have created the Round Robin cluster setup, you can monitor the health status through the User Interface on any one of your Nodes!
So, Yo guys! you have vantage of scaling your infrastructure without dropping out too much of your penny!

Cluster Health Status Monitoring:

Linux BMR –  As previously mentioned  in our blog here, conventional methods of Bare Metal Recoveries incase of any disaster involves lots of manual work like – OS installation, partition creation, and software applications re installation before data can be recovered. But Our Bare Metal Recovery process, reduces all the burden and incase of any disaster, a few easy steps takes cares of everything.

Seed Backup Migration – We truly perceive the concern about the bandwidth usage for transferring initial seed of larger backup data. Now you can be cool as we provide Seed Backup Migration, using which you can quickly move initial seed from the client machine to the backup server without using any Network bandwidth.

OpenVZ Backup and Restore – StoreGrid’s OpenVZ backup combines the power of Linux virtual private server hosting with the power of web hosting control panels ( be it cPanel, Parallels Plesk or DirectAdmin) making StoreGrid, the perfect solution for the complex hosting environment. StoreGrid’s support for OpenVZ provides managed hosting providers and service providers an efficient backup of the entire VPS/VE.

Inotify enhancement for incremental backup performance- Re-architectured our notification design to Journaling file system concept, for improved stability and for handling more number of notifications efficiently. By this, we are quite sure about the enhancement in backup performance and speed.

Windows Backup Server – Now Hosting Edition also supports Windows Backup server running in a native 64 bit architecture. No limits!!! you can deploy StoreGrid Hosting edition on your Windows Environment!

Debian client builds – Here on, HP StoreGrid client agent builds also support Debian & Ubuntu distros, which runs in its native architecture.
